Accepting The Aging Beauty

In today's world we're expected to look twenty five when we're actually fifty and sixty years old.
Going forward I’m challenging myself to stay away from those expectations.  It's okay to look and feel our best but I want to embrace the fifty plus age gracefully.

I refuse to compete with twenty, thirty years old women or any woman. My competition is myself.
I am fierce, wonderful and comfortable in my own skin. Gracefully embracing my age,  style,  weight(yes,  I said weight). I refuse to allow even my weight to depress me.

We should all embrace the aging process. It's not designed that we stay or look young forever.
Make this agreement with me today: I will love myself,  compliment myself,  work on myself to be the best me that I can be.  I promise to devote time to myself, ensuring to care for my mental, spiritual and physical being.  Teresa deserves the best and I'm going to ensure she has it.

Now,  let's take steps and put practices in place to cater to ourselves because if we don't care for the beautiful woman we see staring us in the mirror daily then we can't care for anyone else.

My challenge for this week will be to exercise at least twice this week. A fifteen minute walk is better than nothing at all. I'm not even placing a time on how long I exercise I'm just going to do it.

What will your challenge be for the week?

  1. I agree with you. I only want to be my best and not compete with the young women. We learned a lot and have a lot of wisdom to share with other women. This is an excellent post!
